Monthly Program: "Getting to Know Shorebirds"
Monday, February 21, 2022, 06:30pm - 08:00pm
Speaker: Shorebird Expert Adam Kent.

Approximately 50 species of shorebirds occur regularly in North America but only a handful are found in any one place and time. In this presentation we’ll explore differences and similarities among various shorebird groups and discuss shorebird behaviors and identification. If you are a lover of plovers, smitten with sandpipers, or if you sometimes struggle with shorebird identification, this program is for you.

This virtual program is free, but you must register to participate. We hope you will join us for this fascinating virtual presentation!

Adam Kent has been teaching shorebird identification since the 1990s when he trained naturalist guides in coastal Baja California. Adam’s enthusiasm for the natural world has led to a variety of biologist positions included assessing sites for the Great Florida Birding Trail, working as Florida’s first Scrub-Jay Conservation Coordinator, as a biological consultant, and a natural history tour leader, most recently for Eagle-Eye Tours. He is also a past President of the Florida Ornithological Society.
