Field Trip: St. Augustine Road Fish Management Area
Saturday, March 05, 2022, 08:00am - 11:00am

PLEASE REGISTER ON OUR MEETUP SITE so we know how many to expect. Thank you!

St. Augustine Road Fish Management Area contains two fishing lakes that are operated jointly by the City of Jacksonville and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC). The larger lake drains into New Rose Creek, which connects directly to the St. Johns River. A hidden gem for nature lovers, it is usually empty of everyone except birds.

There is a restroom located in adjacent Earl Johnson Park. Make sure you bring water, snacks, sun block, and binoculars.

We will meet at the pavilion where we will sign in. This area is a place to find Wood Duck, orioles, warblers, and finches. We may even get Purple Martins.

DIRECTIONS: from University Blvd, go north on St. Augustine Road and turn left at Stetson Rd, just past Earl Johnson Park at 5308 St Augustine Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32207. Go the end of the road and meet the rest of the group in the parking area.

FEE: No Fee
