Theodore Roosevelt is part of Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve. We should see migrant warblers, vireos and possibly painted buntings. The walking is easy, a wide trail through mari-time hammock to an observation deck overlooking Round Pond marsh and tidal creeks in the area. This is a great field trip for beginning birders as well as long timers. We will meet in the parking area of the trailhead entrance.

Directions: From St. John’s Bluff Road, go North until it dead ends at Ft. Caroline Road. Turn right on Ft. Caroline Road, follow until Mt. Pleasant Rd forks off to the right. Go about a mile to the entrance at 13165 Mt. Pleasant Road. Turn left and follow the dirt road to the trailhead.

Location 13165 Mt. Pleasant Road, Jacksonville, FL.
