Join us at Kathryn Abbey Hanna Park for our first field trip of the season! Hanna Park features maritime hammock, freshwater lakes, coastal dunes, and 1.5 miles of Atlantic beach. It offers excellent birding opportunities in the beginning of fall migration, with a variety of shorebirds, wading birds, raptors, and songbirds found throughout its diverse habitats. More than 275 different species of birds have been recorded at the park, according to eBird.

Pay the $5 entrance fee at the park gate, then turn right immediately and take the dirt road back to the picnic/playground area. Meet the group in the parking lot to sign in and start the search for some great birds! Wear weather-appropriate clothing and sturdy shoes to bird along the trails. Bring your binoculars if you have them, a hat, bug spray, sunscreen, water, and snacks.
