Bird Walk for Beginners: Spanish Pond (across from Fort Caroline National Memorial)
Sunday, April 06, 2025, 09:00am - 11:00am

Duval Audubon is again leading monthly walks for novice birders at Fort Caroline National Memorial or nearby Spanish Pond. Of course, experienced birders are welcome too!

Spanish Pond at Fort Caroline is a great migration hot spot. Depending on the time of year, we might see painted buntings, migrant warblers, a number of woodpecker species and two or three types of vireo.

Meet at the Spanish Pond trailhead (located across from the entrance to Fort Caroline National Memorial), sign in, then get some good birds. Bring your binoculars, water, insect repellent, and snacks.

LOCATION: Spanish Pond, across from the entrance to Fort Caroline National Memorial, 12713 Fort Caroline Road, Jacksonville, FL

FEE: No Fee
