Our Urban Oasis of Nature and Wellness (UOONW) project is kicking off this month with a big bang. On January 18th, we will have our first-ever Martin Luther King Service Day at Eartha’s Farm & Market. “Planting” six brand new nesting boxes and one new bird feeder will be phase one of our UOONW project at EFAM.

Shout out to local Girl Scout Troop 590, who created the beautiful nesting boxes for use and education. Each colorful nest box depicts a sustainable practice; once installed, they will be accompanied by signage that will provide a great opportunity to educate the community about sustainable practices.

Thanks also go to Brian and Joline Bidwell of Wild Birds Unlimited of Jacksonville Beach for sharing their expertise and providing generous discounts on the bird feeders, poles, hardware, and predator guards for the nesting boxes.
