Calendar of Events
Duval Audubon Society is once again participating in the Jacksonville Christmas Bird Count. Audubon's Christmas Bird Count is conducted every year between the dates of December 14 and January 5. Each count takes place in an established 15-mile wide diameter circle, and is organized by a count compiler. Experienced bird count volunteers follow specified routes through a designated 15-mile (24-km) diameter circle, counting every bird they see or hear all day. It's not just a species tally—all birds are counted all day, giving an indication of the total number of birds in the circle that day.
A map view of the circles expected to be included in the 124th CBC is available here. If you're interested in participating this season, check out the map and zoom in to find a count near you. Online registration for the CBC is not available - please contact compilers directly by email. For the Jacksonville count, email This email address is being protected from spambots.
