SUMMARY:Mindful Birding at Sunset
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a mindful bird outing at Hanna Park’s beautiful lake. We’ll spend time observing and enjoying birds as they fly in to roost for the night. Learn more about mindful birding and its many benefits: themindfulbirdingnetwork.com/mindful-birding. \nAll experience levels and the bird-curious are welcome. Some of the common residents are: Anhinga\, Great Egret\, Snowy Egret\, Great Blue Heron\, Common Gallinule\, Double-crested Cormorant\, American Coot\, Red-winged Blackbird\, Laughing Gull\, Osprey\, and more! \nPark entrance fee is $5. Bringing a chair or blanket is encouraged\, as park seating is limited. Binoculars will be available for loan. \nHow to find us: We will meet at the parking lot for the lake and kids splash pad. After paying the park entrance fee ($5)\, make the first right turn and continue straight to the parking lot.

SUMMARY:Open House and Volunteer Work Day at Crosby Sanctuary
DESCRIPTION:The gates to Crosby Sanctuary will be open from 8-12 for visitors to enjoy the bird garden and walk the trails\, as well as for volunteers to conduct projects and maintenance. Please parallel park on Aquarius Concourse on the same side of the road as the Sanctuary. \nCrosby Sanctuary (limited access/no fee) is a “hotspot” on eBird and a “project” on iNaturalist. We have documented over 150 bird species on eBird and 300 plant species on iNaturalist. We also have active North American beavers on the property. \nIMPORTANT: Please wear close-toed shoes or boots (for your safety\, no sandals or flip-flops\, please)\, and bring your own water\, sunscreen\, bug spray\, and a hat if desired. \nYou can access a printable map of the preserve here. \nNOTE: The entrance is in the middle of the neighborhood – please park inside the gate (limit six vehicles) or on the NW side of the street (same side as the sanctuary).
