Celebrate The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) with expert birder David Simpson at Bogey Creek Preserve! David has been leading birding tours in Florida for over 30 years, starting as a teenager leading field trips for his local Audubon chapter. An avid birder, he has recorded at least 150 species in all 67 Florida counties.

North Florida Land Trust opened Bogey Creek Preserve, their first public park, in May of 2019. Bogey Creek is a 75-acre scenic preserve consisting of a mix of maritime hammock forest, seep-fed cypress swamps and mixed pine-oak forest. The preserve neighbors Pumpkin Hill Creek Preserve State Park and the Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve and protects nearly one mile of critical marsh front on Clapboard and Bogey Creeks. Click here for the Bogey Creek Preserve Trail Map.

North Florida Land Trust, founded in 1999, is a nonprofit organization that champions environmental protection in its primary, 11-county focus area of Baker, Bradford, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, Putnam, St. Johns, Union, Columbia and Volusia counties. NFLT is funded largely by private and corporate contributions and works closely with private landowners and public agencies at all levels of government, not-for-profit partners, and foundations.

Bring binoculars, drinks, snacks, sunscreen, bug spray, sturdy walking shoes, and a hat if desired.
