The Biggest Week In American Birding will add two new field trips to our lineup this year! Birding the Lakefront takes a deeper dive into Maumee Bay State Park, Mallard Club Wildlife Area, Howard Marsh Metropark, and Metzger Marsh Wildlife Area with hopes of finding a wide variety of songbirds, waterfowl, shorebirds, and more! Our new Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge van trip explores many of the new and less-visited parts of the beloved Ottawa National Wildlife Refuge in addition to the sites that birders may be more familiar with. These new trips, along with our existing lineup, are sure to create fun, meaningful, and lifer-filled birding memories!

The Biggest Week In American Birding is excited to announce the start of a morning flight count! Many songbird species migrate nocturnally, and this movement continues into the early hours of the morning. These flights can last for several hours, as birds that were over water near sunrise search for an ideal place to land. Join our counters and guides every morning (weather permitting) on the dike path that separates the marsh from Lake Erie at Metzger Marsh Wildlife Area. Thank you to our friends at Kowa Sporting Optics for sponsoring this exciting new event!
