Focal Species
The Florida Shorebird Database collects data on several species of
shorebirds and seabirds observed in Florida (for comprehensive list,
see species list).
Since the database is divided into breeding and non-breeding sections,
our focal species are separated into breeding and non-breeding lists.
Keep in mind that many species that nest in Florida also occur
in the state as non-breeders (i.e. migrants and/or winter residents).
