Monthly Program: "What Food Fuels White Ibis Supercolonies in the Everglades?"

Speaker: Biologist Tasso Cocoves.

Tasso's presentation will focus on the observational study he conducted on White Ibis diets in Everglades National Park and discuss how his work relates to Everglades restoration.

Since taking an ornithology course in his final semester at Miami University, Tasso has been relentlessly pursuing birds in his professional and personal life. He has worked on several projects supporting the conservation of birds in Texas, Arizona, West Virginia, and Florida. He completed his Master's Degree in Environmental Science at Florida Atlantic University where he studied the diet of nesting White Ibis. Currently, Tasso is a biologist for the US Army Corps of Engineers working on the hydrologic restoration of the Florida Everglades.
