Equity
Everyone deserves access to a good education, quality health care, opportunities to build wealth and communities that are safe from environmental pollution. Our equity initiatives include increasing educational gains for low-income and first-generation youth, enhancing cultural and religious institutions that preserve and celebrate diverse traditions, and improving diversity of leadership among non-profit organizations.
Placemaking
Where people live, work, learn, and play is critical to how they grow, develop, and contribute. People who feel a sense of belonging have the confidence to find creative solutions to society’s greatest challenges. Our placemaking efforts are guided by a focus on enhancing belonging, strengthening low-income neighborhoods, partnering with communities, and building capacity for emerging leaders.
Impact Investing
More than half of the duPont Fund's endowment is invested in mission-aligned investments, such as the creation of affordable housing or small business loans for women and people of color. These investment vehicles include program-related investments (PRIs) such as loans and guarantees, and mission-related investments (MRIs) such as equity investments in companies that provide social benefit.
