USGBC Florida

The USGBC Florida community is a diverse group of stakeholders committed to creating healthy, resilient, sustainable buildings and communities a reality for everyone in the Sunshine State. We support, promote, educate, and grow the green building industry through our education and programming.

Green buildings and communities are a critical part of protecting our environment, enhancing resilience, and supporting prosperous and equitable communities. Did you know:

• Almost 3000 buildings in Florida have been LEED certified.
• Florida has more LEED for Cities certifications than almost any other place in the world.
• Over 50 policies at the state, county and city levels help drive sustainable, resilient development in the state.
• More than 4000 green building experts, stakeholders, advocates and enthusiasts.
• Over 240 companies headquartered in Florida are members of USGBC.

As a local part of USGBC’s larger network to help advance sustainability worldwide, we help to fulfill USGBC’s mission by providing educational and volunteer opportunities to grow our network in the state. Our collective impact extends across the state with unique activities organized by our members in their communities that inspire action, grow knowledge, build networks and celebrate leadership. Our goal is to transform the way our buildings and communities are designed, built, and operated. Priority topics include decarbonization, electrification, equity, ESG, green finance, human health, net zero and resilience. Each year we celebrate the advancement of these goals and priorities along with recognizing leading people, partners and projects through the USGBC Florida Community Leadership Awards.
