Theodore Roosevelt Area is part of Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve. We should see migrant warblers, vireos and possibly painted buntings. The walking is easy, a wide trail through maritime hammock to an observation deck overlooking Round Pond marsh and tidal creeks in the area. This is a great field trip for beginning birders as well as long timers. We will meet in the parking area of the trailhead entrance.

Directions: Take St. Johns Bluff North to Monument Road. Turn right on Monument Road and follow to the end. Turn right onto Fort Caroline Road. The road will split into Fort Caroline and Mt. Pleasant Road.  Stay straight on Mt. Pleasant.  The entrance to the park will be a mile down the road on the left hand side.  Turn left onto the dirt road and follow it to the parking lot which will be on the left hand side. No fee.

Location 13165 Mt. Pleasant Road, Jacksonville, Florida
