St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge is one of the oldest wildlife refuges in the United States. Established in 1931 as a wintering ground for migratory birds, it is located on the Gulf of Mexico and encompasses 68,000 acres spread between WakullaJefferson, and Taylor Counties.  The refuge includes several coastal habitats, such as saltwater marshes, islands, tidal creeks, and the estuaries of seven north Florida rivers. It is home to a diverse range of plant and animal life. St. Marks Lighthouse is the second oldest lighthouse in Florida.

Join us for a fun filled weekend. We’ll camp just outside of St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge Friday night. Saturday morning we’ll meet at the St. Marks Lighthouse at 8 a.m. For those who do not wish to camp at Newport Park, here are other options for accommodations.

Daily entrance fees to the park apply, $5.00 per car, a yearly pass may be purchased or use your National Park pass.
