Troubled Waters: Jacksonville Screening and Panel Discussion
Thursday, March 23, 2017, 07:00pm - 09:00pm
  • Duval Audubon Society is excited to partner with St. Johns Riverkeeper to present the Jacksonville screening of their new documentary Troubled Waters!

Despite their importance, Florida’s waterways are suffering from significant pollution problems such as fertilizer runoff, poorly treated municipal and industrial wastewater, and failing septic tanks. Combined with the impacts from a rapidly growing population we have a potential recipe for disaster.

Troubled Waters was funded by St. Johns Riverkeeper and produced by Ray Hays and PRC Digital Media. This event is being hosted by the USGBC Green Carpet Film Series.

The documentary will be shown (48 minutes) and then followed by a panel discussion moderated by St. Johns Riverkeeper.

    Panelists include:

    • Dr. Quint White, Director, Marine Science Research Institute, Jacksonville University

    • Alicia Smith, Rising Tides member

    • Robert Burks, Aquatic Biologist

Public questions will be encouraged during the panel discussion, which will address steps that we can take to protect Florida’s waters.

Cost is $5; advance tickets available at: http://tinyurl.com/hd5exy5.

Location Sun-Ray Cinema, 1028 Park Street, Jascksonville, FL.
